BFI honors Einar Thorstein
BFI honors designer Einar Thorsteinn, who passed away on May 6th. Thorsteinn was strongly influenced by Bucky and was also a student of the late Frei Otto. An article in Curbed recounts six of his "experiments" throughout his lifetime:
"His shapeshifting career has touched on polyhedral volumes, alternative mathematics, life-size spherical shapes, Icelandic folk tales, 'outer space architecture,' and crystallography."
Check out some of his collaborations with Studio Olafur Eliasson here and a 2007 interview here.
