New Living Building Challenge Books

2012 Buckminster Fuller Challenge winners the International Living Future Institute released two new books in their Living building Challenge series: Generation Green: The Making of the UniverCity Childcare Centre and Living Building Education: The Evolution of Bertschi School’s Science Wing.

The Making of the UniverCity Childcare Centre showcases a brilliant pairing of innovative design and deep, green construction. The 168-page, artfully illustrated book details the story of how the UniverCity community leadership, along with a talented team of green building professionals and committed educators elevated the bar for ecological design and early childhood education. UniverCity is located on the Simon Fraser University Campus in Burnaby, B.C.

Living Building Education: The Evolution of the Bertschi School’s Science Wing shares in 168 pages, the story of the elementary school’s journey with a team of dedicated green building professionals. Together, they worked collaboratively and passionately to weave sustainability and science into the consciousness of all elementary school kids who spend time learning in the school’s science wing.
