White House climate change data website launched

Building on data.gov, its open data initiative, the White House has launched http://climate.data.gov, the Obama Administration’s new website aimed at giving citizens access to climate change-related data. With GIS-based maps of data from NASA, NOAA, the US Geological Survey, and other federal agencies, and leveraging technology from Google and Esri, the makers of ArcGIS, people are able to map the levels of risk in their neighborhoods and find the latest climate change information for their areas.
