Dispatches From the Field: 2014 Fuller Challenge Semifinalists Launch New Design Effort

In 2014, a team from The Biomimicry Institute was announced as a Semifinalist in the Buckminster Fuller Challenge for their initiative AskNature, an immense, web-based interactive database, learning tool, and living Biomimicry encyclopedia, which seeks to catalog and propagate solutions to the most pressing human challenges by drawing from time-tested strategies evolved by nature. AskNature aspires to make biomimetic solutions widely accessible for educational and industrial applications. The Institute is now launching a design challenge of their own for students and professionals that use biomimicry to solve human-scale problems.
