For: Currently enrolled, university-level individual students and student teams
In the 2016 Fuller Challenge cycle, The Buckminster Fuller Institute will identify and support outstanding student proposals from currently enrolled, university-level individual students and student teams. Eligible applicants may enter the Challenge under the $50 Student application category. At the end of the cycle, Finalists and a Winner will be selected from the student category.
This is the first time that student entries to the Challenge will undergo a separate review and selection process. While student proposals will not be in the running for the $100,000 grand prize, the selected Finalists and Winner will receive support, media recognition, and benefits through our Catalyst Program.
Student applications will be evaluated against the Fuller Challenge criteria, with an understanding that feasibility and verifiability will be limited for conceptual proposals.
Student proposals may be developed through or outside of coursework.
All supplementary materials are optional. The entry questions are mandatory. Because most student entries will be conceptual, some of the entry questions (such as those regarding budget, team, and operations) may be answered hypothetically.
The 2016 Call for Proposals is now available.
The 2016 Fuller Challenge student category deadline has passed.
