Next Future Transportation, Inc.

SUMMARY: Next is an advanced smart, modular transportation system designed to reduce pollution, commute time, traffic fatalities, trip costs, and road congestion. It will change travel into a useful time to live, resulting in economic, social, and time benefits.

PROBLEM SPACE: “Humans are numerous, ubiquitous, and they consume a large amount of the worldäó»s stored energy. A major portion of this fossilized carbon is burned transporting individuals (and freight), each using their own internal combustion engine. This extraordinarily inefficient use of our civilization’s one-time energy windfall results in extremely large emissions of climate-changing pollutants that imperil all of humanity and a sustainably temperate global ecosystem.
By employing themselves as the operators of vehicles, humans endure significant collisions, deaths, and injuries. This financial and emotional cost of losing our fellow humans to äóìaccidentsäó approaches infinity. Additionally, by driving ourselves, we congest our roadways with large vehicles and lose the otherwise productive time that could be used as one sees fit. Instead of driving one could be working, learning, sleeping, texting, eating, etc., and otherwise regain a lot of time.
There are also significant fiscal costs consumers pay related to purchasing, owning, and maintaining a vehicle. We do this because mobility is an essential component to maintaining decent employment and a fiscally sound household. For the working classes, this can lead to economic hardship and a form of financial äóìindentured servitude as they struggle to obtain both transportation and a living wage.”

SOLUTION: “To address this, NEXT’s solution is to develop and execute a new transportation model that utilizes the individual’s self-interest and desires. With NEXT, the strategy is to offer a compelling transportation option that just so happens to have significant environmental, financial, and personal benefits. We give people the financial, social, convenience, and vanity-oriented choices that out-compete the current transportation paradigm.

How would you like to get to where you need to go?
1) Drive yourself with its costs and risks, such as bodily injury, financial liability, gas and maintenance costs, and having to pay attention for the entire trip (no texting/social media, stay operationally awake did you get enough sleep last night?).
2) Have your trip be taken care of in a way that’s cheaper, faster, addresses more of your comfort and service desires, and enables you to have more and better entertainment, work, and social options.
Given this choice (and it IS a real one), people will make decisions in their best interest, which also happens to align to a larger societal need.”
