Design Science
Buckminster Fuller developed the new discipline of Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science to support a whole systems approach to “make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest time possible.” We are expanding this work, making it available in new ways, and actively applying it to urgent global challenges.
BFI Design Lab
BFI Design Lab is a non-profit innovation lab and venture studio that is actively supporting strategic initiatives for planetary thriving. BFI Design Lab provides a range of support for project teams applying comprehensive anticipatory design science in regenerative, inclusive, commons-based, verifiable, and achievable ways.
Bioregional Resilience & Regeneration
During the 1960s, Buckminster Fuller developed the World Game as a comprehensive peacemaking response to the war games of the time. In this spirit, BFI is working with exceptional BFI Design Lab and other partners to support territories, landscapes, and bioregions around the world for regenerative mapping, planning, modeling, governing, and financing.
Design Science Studio
A (r)Evolutionary incubator for ART inspiring a regenerative future that works for 100% of life, created in partnership between habRitual and BFI. We are supporting global creators imagining an equitable and just future, because the future is always first an idea.
Regenerosity
Co-created to catalyze action and amplify learning, we design our programs to resource place-based impact, connect networks, and inspire the movements that are protecting and regenerating bio-cultural diversity on our planet. Regenerosity was incubated as a program of BFI starting in 2019 and successfully transitioned to become an independent non-profit in 2025.
