Philips joins BFI in Toulouse!

We are proud to announce that Philips, the global lighting company, is joining BFI as a sponsor of the lighting installation of the newly restored 50 Foot Fly's Eye dome at the Toulouse Festival of Contemporary Art. Rogier Van der Hiede, chief design officer of Philips Global is designing the lighting which will use Philip's state of the art technology throughout. "We are so happy to be working again with Rogier and his team for this extraordinary event", remarked Elizabeth Thompson, BFI's Executive Director, "Philips' sponsorship of this project will take the installation to an entirely new level and we are very grateful for the creative ingenuity and their support. It is going to be spectacular!"

BFI is pleased to announce the launch of our partner site, 100% Solutions, a real-time, influencer-curated news site chronicling the 'invention of the future', positive solutions to today's and tomorrow's challenges. Wyss Symposium on Medical Nanotechnologies Inspired by Nature

On June 6th, in Boston, Harvard University's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering will host their 4th annual, "Nanotherapeutics & Diagnostics: Wyss symposium on medical nanotechnologies inspired by Nature". The day long symposium will focus on new nanotherapeutic and diagnostic technologies that are specifically inspired by living systems and that promise to have a transformative impact on medicine and clinical care. The event is free, but registration is required.




The Whole Earth: California and the Disappearance of the Outside in Berlin, Germany

April 25 - July 1, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin will present an exhibition, titled "The Whole Earth. California and the disappearance of the Outside", and a conference on the same subject on the 21 and 22 of June. The Focus will be on the effects of The "Whole Earth Catalog", Stewart Brand's publication which was heavily influenced by Fuller's work and lectures.
