Field Structure Energy Paradigm

SUMMARY: Applying a new theory of form and structure to real world problems of energy generation and storage.

PROBLEM SPACE: The goal of theoretical physicists and that of the structural synergists, as exemplified by Buckminster Fuller, is to furnish a conceptual understanding of our world and thereby give humanity the tools it needs to advance civilization without destroying the planet. For theoretical physics to provide us with a fundamental theory that will allow us to work on the deepest levels of form and structure, it will have to begin with events at scales too small to be seen and show how these events can be scaled up to a size we humans can manage. The problem has been our civilization is using a science paradigm that is not sufficiently fundamental to know the structure of reality at and below the molecule, therein lays our problem.

From my working perspective, many our problems originate from our the lack of a theoretical understanding of nature, which prevents us from accessing a deeper level of the energy plenum.

Our problem is systemic, which means we have a problem with our paradigm. The new geometry and physics of Fieldstructures may be the trimtab we seek for a new paradigm.

SOLUTION: The negative effects of the paradigm now in place challenge all levels of human activity. Sharing the center of attention with other urgencies is the pervasive issue of energy generation and storage. Addressing this paradigm crisis is Field Structure Theory (FST), a new theory about the form and structure of nature that addresses the systemic inadequacies of the present paradigm. FST is not a refutation of the Standard Model of physics, but rather a way to get past the conceptual difficulties inherent in the Standard Model, which shrouds the quantum world with ambiguity. Because of the Uncertainty Principle and Schrödinger’s wave mechanics, the Standard Model prevents us from being able to see deterministically the actual structure of the particle and atom. Physics can only comment with confidence on the probabilities of something happening. That is not good enough to really know structure at its most fundamental level.

FST addresses the issue by studying the principles of structure with conceptual models. To do that FST uses a new geometry (Skew Geometry) to make a field model that will in turn generate and explain both boson and fermion particles. Fieldstructure particle models define the interaction between bosons and fermions and for the first time justifies their actual mass and energy values. In doing this, it is now possible to use our understanding of fundamental structure to build particle and atom platforms of structure at a scale within reach of our technology. This gives us access to the new paradigm we seek.

Field Structure Theory takes the position that in solving the underlying question of natural form and structure we can use this knowledge to generate and store energy more efficiently, more profoundly, without danger, and with significantly less environmental impact.

In the largest sense, the BFI Challenge is asking for nothing short of a new paradigm to replace the Molecular Paradigm developed in the last century.

The molecular paradigm involves chemical energy, which constitutes by recent count 86.8 percent of world energy use. This is a problem because chemical reactions convert only a tiny fraction of one percent of the molecular mass into usable energy hence we have to use billions of gallons of fuel oil and millions of tons of coal to meet our energy needs. Molecular energy’s harmful environmental impact has far exceeded its safe utilization.

To move from the molecular paradigm to the atomic paradigm, means moving to a more fundamental energy platform, one that has more energy potential for a given mass. The atomic platform being referred to here is not atomic energy, as we presently know it. Fission is the act of destroying atoms to release bonding energy. What we want to do is to use the superior energy storing potential of the atom both for storage of energy and to generate energy (heat). This has not been possible in the past because the mechanism for how nature does this has not been known and hence not reproducible at a scale accessible to the engineer. Presently we only known how to destroy atoms. While fission is far more an energetic reaction than a molecular reaction, it is expensive to produce and creates the extremely long-lasting toxic substances that carry the potential for mass destruction. Fusion, often touted as our best hope for the future, while atomic in nature, as yet requires more energy than it produces. As a fixed energy source, fusion lacks portability along with most electrical energy systems. Electrical energy depends on either a hardwire connection to its source or a battery. Batteries, as we know them, are antiquated molecular paradigm devices and wired electrical energy isn’t portable. A fieldstructure battery solves both these electrical energy problems by providing a battery that can carry huge amounts of energy in a tiny space. Looking at the energy storage potential, a fieldstructure battery may make the concept of refueling and recharging a thing of the past. A Field Structure energy solution has the potential to solve both energy generation, as well as storage/distribution problems. While these claims may sound impossibly optimistic, I believe they are achievable.

The atomic platform refers to the atom’s ability to generate and store energy, not the ability to destroy the atom in fission. The difference is profound. The atom, and the particles that make up atoms, are nature’s perfect machines. Left on their own, atoms and particles exist forever. If we could replicate their atomic structure at a scale we can work with, we would have this advantageous atomic platform to solve our energy problems. New developments in electrical engineering coupled with Field Structure mechanics suggest this can be done. This implies that the atomic and particle platforms can be replicated at the human scale. If we can replicate the structure of the atom at a scale accessible to the engineer, we have a vastly more powerful energy platform at our disposal that is inherently benign.

FST has discovered that the same structural principles that are operating at all platforms of structure, from particles to atoms to molecules, distribute energy in new and more integral manners as the complexity increases. At the human scale of engineering, with a complete understanding of form and structure, we have the ability to replicate any platform at our scale of experience. When proven true, everything will change. Presently science has not expected this to be possible. If the “proof of concept” experiment that I propose proves successful, science will have the new paradigm it has been seeking.

At present, the atomic and particle models of FST are static structures. I propose to use the award money to produce for the first time mencroscale kinetic particle and atom platform structures.

1. PHASE ONE: Will be to assemble the critical assistance needed to complete the theoretical side of the project. Completing the theoretical work will set the stage for phase two by solidifying the conceptual thinking needed to produce a working mencroscale fieldstructure model.

Staffing will be through joint efforts between participating qualified professionals and an academic institution. I anticipate it will be possible to complete the theoretical phase of the project with the money supplied by the Challenge award. With this accomplished, fund raising for phase two will be facilitated. Phase one in itself will be an accomplishment in itself as the product of this work would among other things produce a Particle Hierarchy Chart, which is one of the major goals of physics.

I will be looking forward to bring others on board as funds permit. While the theoretical work will begin in earnest, additional funding will be sought requiring the efforts of a fund-raiser(s) and business management professionals.

2. PHASE TWO: Phase two will prove the validity of phase one and bring to the bear a new paradigm for our use in solving our energy issues. Phase two is to produce a working prototype of the particle/atom platform at the human scale. The technical aspects of how this will be done are in preparation and will be submitted when requested. Phase two will require moving the activity from theory to the laboratory, where the crucial ‘proof of concept’ experiment is to be made. The physics behind the experiment involves creating electron rings and forming them into the Structor shape (see images). How this is done is patentable. I would rather divulge how I propose to do this at a later time after the necessary patent applications have been applied for. A “proof of concept” experiment will be done first by using fluid dynamics before moving on to producing a working prototype using electron plasma ring structures.
