Health Promoter Practitioners seeks to transform conventional healthcare by training and empowering community members to take prevention and healing into their own hands. Disrupting the hegemonic concept of institutionally recognized healthcare, the organization has built local capacity and demonstrated that over 80% of primary medical cases can be successfully treated by HPP-trained individuals. Adapting to native languages and recognizing the role of traditional medicine, this affordable, decentralized model aims for human self-sufficiency.
