Community Survey results

As many of you know, throughout the rest of this year and through 2015 BFI will be celebrating Bucky’s profound legacy and its critical importance for our world today. The first step in the process was to understand the needs and interests of you, the growing global BFI community, through the first BFI community survey! Thank you all for participating, and with an overwhelming number of our survey respondents indicating interest in volunteer opportunities, local events and other programmatic avenues for greater involvement, we look forward to this next year of celebrations with your support!

Our Bucky 120 celebration will include the re-launch of a new Membership Program, the launch of unique publications, educational programs and much more, including a new Dome Building Kit coming to the Dymaxion Artifacts online store soon!

The results of the BFI community survey are incredibly exciting. Half of our respondents were US based, however, our international community represented the other half of participants, showing the truly global nature of our programs and community! As a global community, you demonstrated almost unanimous interest in more opportunities to learn about Fuller’s ideas and work, the contemporary impact of Bucky’s life work and resources on Design + Science. In addition, the BFI community reported interest equally divided among receiving information about BFI, our new programs and the Buckminster Fuller Challenge. We will use the insights gleaned form your responses to better tailor our future programs to align with our community’s interests.

Although half of our survey participants were not aware that BFI is a donor supported non-profit organization, about 1 in every 5 participants has supported BFI financially. Thank you for investing in BFI. Your generous gifts have helped us dramatically expand our programs and impact. Our growing community is incredibly important to us, and in the next weeks you will have the opportunity to become a Member of the BFI! If you would like to support BFI today, you can do so now at https://bfi.org/donate.

We encourage you to visit our website, bfi.org, and to stay posted on all the exciting news and event programming happening at BFI – all of which is only possible through the generous support of community members like yourself.

Again, thank you for participating in the Buckminster Fuller Institute’s community survey and for your commitment to a world that works for 100% of humanity!
