Receding Arctic Ice Habitats

SUMMARY: This paper proposes construction of pilot networks of platforms moored to the continental shelf of Alaska to form sea bridges/archipelagos for shelter, hunting and denning. (Fig. 1 and 2). Placed by ship, the platforms would use remotely operated vehicle (ROV) technology to submerge during the current complete winter freezes and surface during the iceless summers.

SUMMARY: To implement a low cost effective way to turn plastic pollution into a leading- edge solution by utilizing the plastic waste and compressing it into blocks which can be used for sustainable building construction. Plastic waste is collected, cleaned, recycled and then compressed into blocks to be used as building.

SCRAP LAB is a mission, aiming at using scientific discoveries, art and design to combat wastes creatively and collectively. 9-steps upcycling-process was developed and applied to manufacturers, communities and building-contractors throughout Thailand to upcycle wastes into new products and supports them with Upcycle-certification-scheme (world's first) to verify their reduced carbon-emissions.
