Jeff Cook

Jeff is a planning facilitator, community engagement specialist, and educator with over 20 years of community experience with Indigenous communities from across Canada. Jeff has received national and regional planning awards from the Canadian Institute of Planners, the Planning Institute of BC and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM). Jeff is especially well known for participatory, capacity-driven approach to community planning, with expertise in comprehensive community planning. He has published articles in Plan Canada, including a report called Gaining Momentum: Sharing 96 Best Practices of First Nations Comprehensive Community Planning. Jeff teaches Indigenous community planning practice in a number of settings including at the School of Community and Regional Planning, at the University of British Columbia. Jeff is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and is the current Chair of the Indigenous Peoples Planning Committee.
