Ecological Design Inventing The Future

I'm a new member and would like to get some feedback on my review of the 1994 documentary, Ecological Design, Inventing The Future. I have been an admirer of Buckminster Fuller ever since I read his book, Grunch of Giants. I would like to become more involved with BFI on a humanitarian level and for future writing projects. The review can be found at the following address: http://home.comcast.net/~flickhead/Bucky.html

Eden Project named best British building of past 20 years
Friday, 12 Oct 2007 10:44

The Eden Project houses startlingly diverse ecosystems

The Eden Project, the world's biggest greenhouse and one of the UK's most popular attractions, has been named the best British building of the past 20 years.

The ecological park near St Austell, Cornwall, was given the honour at the British Construction Industry's (BCI) 20th anniversary awards, with its legacy, influence and benefit to the community at large feted.

The Eden Project, set in a former clay pit, took the prize ahead of Broadgate and the City of Manchester Stadium.

The Channel Tunnel was named the best civil engineering project of the last 20 years, with the second Severn Crossing and the Cardiff Bay Barrage also named.

Tim Smit, chief executive of the Eden Project, was delighted to have claimed the title, telling the Independent: "We are so proud and humbled to have won this award, especially in the light of the fabulous projects that Britain has spawned in a modern renaissance over the past two decades.

"For us it has been a privilege to have been offered the opportunity to follow our dreams and build 'Eden' and to watch the engineers, architects and landscape architects weave their genius."

Thank you Matt for your comments about my review of the documentary. I put my heart into it. You most certainly have my permission to post my review in your online store. It's an honor and a privilege. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I have been away from my computer for a while.

Thanks for posting your review, Christine. I read through it and I couldn't agree more with the conclusions you reached. I especially enjoyed the quotes you interspersed throughout the piece - I think they reflected the content and message of the film perfectly. We would love to post this review on our online store under the description of the film if you would be willing to allow us to do so. I think it would help people get excited about it and we could encourage more people to check it out. Let me know what you think.

Best,
