here it is, i was tripping over my amp to put on my shoes…. and the thot arose…. in the midst of why a mac wuld be better for me, i realized…..
the system is more secure, which means it’s better for the customers, and better for the software programers as well….
the reason why a mac is so expensive? i wuld imagine less of a turn over rate…. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . .. . . . . .. .
if you watch ‘fog of war’ robert macnamera, who is actually an economist who worked for a car company (gmc, ford or one of those), described how a high turnover rate is key in the car industry – they Don’t want to make perfect cars cuz that means you won’t be buying another one for quite awhile… it was a tactic implemented early on…. and is a clear example of how companies work….. it’s no mistake that this guy was hired later on to work in the department of defense (they hired a car manufacturer for secretary of defense), namely in the vietnam conflict … he opens up about how ugly the war business is, and that it is ultimately economics. . . . .. . . . . .. . .. . . . . .. . . . .. . . . .. . . . ..
anyways, to wrap it all up – this applies to the technology sector as well as any big company who puts out large volume and wants to stay competitive > microsoft…(but I don’t understand the competitive part)
they have been using essentially the same dos interface for god knows how long, with no major improvements in the actual interface, just features….. dishing out a lacklustre product with guaranteed sales… . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . .. . . .
this is frustrating, cuz lots of computer geeks rely on these flaws to keep themselves employed, lots of them like to work on the dos level – and they like the fact that windows can be manipulated so easily [viruses, identity theft] –
i have a friend who is all about windows and he tried to scare me out of buying a mac a couple years ago… anyways, it didn’t persuade me… then he offered to give me a ridiculous amount of free programs, which appealed to me, so i stuck it out….
anyways, my whole point is this: it’s a secure system for the user, as well as the manufacturers of programs – there are significantly less cracked programs for mac – which means more money for the hard working people who make the programs….
which actually brings the economy back to a baseline….buyer/seller
it also means less illegal downloading of music, cuz there are less peer to peer networks for mac – tho this is debatable cuz they might go on the rise… . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . .. . . .. . . .. . . .. . . . ..
anyways, as it is – microsoft has eaten up the programing industry as well as the record industry (partially)...... and screwed over the customers in the process… . . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . .. . . .. . . .. .
and here’s the punchline: they own apple.
