Scholarships open for SOCAP 14

Scholarship applications are open for SOCAP14, and a new collaboration has been announced with The Gratitude Network (http://gratitudefund.org). The Gratitude Network identifies and mentors leading social entrepreneurs each year. This year SOCAP and The Gratitude Network will be working together to support the SOCAP scholarship program and a new award/mentorship program.

SOCAP has been supporting the most promising entrepreneurs with scholarships since the first event in 2008, and has consistently grown their entrepreneur offerings with the Impact Accelerator Weekend, innovation showcases, a marketplace for entrepreneurs’ goods, and dedicated mentoring. The Gratitude Network will add its unique mentorship and funding to the existing program.

During SOCAP14, The Gratitude Network will award cash prizes and begin ongoing mentorship of outstanding entrepreneurs in the fields of Education, Community Development, and Global Health. The Gratitude Network is a unique venture philanthropy organization that mentors and funds social entrepreneurs in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. The Gratitude Awards honor social entrepreneurs with high potential to move the needle on global social issues through ground-breaking innovations. The first Gratitude Awards were given in 2013 in the field of Education.

All SOCAP14 scholarship applicants working in the relevant fields will be considered for the Gratitude Awards and will be contacted by June 30th if they are invited to participate in the semi-finalist round of judging. An elite panel of judges, including respected leaders from the investor, philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, and relevant sector perspectives will narrow the pool of nominees down to five finalists in each category. The winner, runner-up, and audience choice in each category will be selected at SOCAP14.
