Mushroom Tower for PS1

2013 Fuller Challenge winner Ecovative is collaborating with architect-designers The Living on a 40-foot tower made of 10,000 living mushroom bricks for grown via Ecovative’s innovative process, to be installed in the courtyard of MoMA PS1 as part of their Young Architects Program this summer.

The Living

The 15th installment in PS1’s YAP program, Hy-Fi, as the project is called, “offers a new vision for society’s approach to physical objects and the built environment. It also offers a new definition of local materials, and a direct relationship to New York State agriculture and innovation culture, New York City artists and non-profits, and Queens community gardens.”
