I am happy to announce the acceptance of the patent application for our invention, the ARCX building System Architecture Resistant to Climatic eXtremes. A very talented mathmatician, Brigitte Sevatius of WPI, performed magic to give me the formula for the derived triangle that results when you distort the vertices of a Icosahedron, a dodecahedron and the vertices formed by the rhombito all lie on a single sphere. It is a beautiful thing, a perfect hemispere with angles and dihedral angles to 10 decimals.
I am in the Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) industry which is one of the stronngest, most energy efficient ways to build. We start with a 8' x 24' slab of high tech EPS, OSB, glue and pressure to form one very strong laminate. Now I take the CNC computer code for my magic triangle to several SIP manufacturers to set up for production. We use a 8 1/4" thick R-32 panel and get 6 triangles per blank with about 1% waste.
60 pieces, 30 RH and 30 LH, go together in about a day with all window and door openings precut. Later I will go into the connecting splines and the steel hubs and hold downs. this one key triangle is used to make buildings from 900 sq. ft. to over 4 thousand sq. ft. This is because this particulr geometry breaks along great circle arcs and the hemispere can separate in 1 or 2 directions. SIP extensions are installed to extend the dome horizontally but not vertically. Bigger floor area less extra surface to deal with.
At the end of the day I think I have a building that will resist 200 mph winds, 7.5 earthquakes, be ready to move in four or five days, and operate near zero energy use. I can deliver this for the cost of the cheapest stick built track junk - about $70-80 / sq. ft.
I state these things because I need help to launch this idea. I need people who want to build a dome, people that can help sell them and install them, people who can hel-p me get a time slot in the wind tunnel in Florida or the shaker table in San Diego. It is much bigger than me and have I pushed this rock up a steep hill for the last six years.

I like how you can move your CNC Code around to different manufacturers. Then you can work in any part of the country or any part of the world.
